Dental Insurance Plans For All Ages

Many dental insurance plans aren't worth getting, because they amount to a money swap, where at best your money spent on the plan is the same that you'd spend on your dental needs out-of-pocket.

However, these three dental plans are actually worth buying given their benefits, as I explain below.

WE'VE GOT YOU COVERED

What we have for You?

Physicians
Physicians Mutual Dental Insurance

Physicians Mutual offers dental plans for people of all ages, and uses the extensive Ameritas network of dentists. But even if your dentist isn't in their network, you can still use these benefits at your dentist's office.

Physicians Mutual has no yearly maximums, or lifetime maximums, in what they will pay for coverage.

Coverage is broken down into three categories:

  1. Preventive benefits: dental care such as cleanings, exams and X-rays.
  2. Basic benefits: such as fillings, simple tooth extractions and minor oral surgery.
  3. Major benefits: such as root canals, crowns and dentures.

There are four policy options:

1. Economy

  • Preventive Benefits: Covers 100%
  • Basic Benefits: Covers 25%
  • Major Benefits: Covers 25%

2. Standard

  • Preventive Benefits: 100%
  • Basic Benefits: Covers 40%
  • Major Benefits: Covers 40%

3. Preferred

  • Preventive Benefits: 100%
  • Basic Benefits: Covers 55%
  • Major Benefits: Covers 55%

4. Premier

  • Preventive Benefits: 100%
  • Basic Benefits: Covers 70%
  • Major Benefits: Covers 70%
